The objective of this event is to promote LEO and charitable organisations. There will be various performances, competitions, a games and food booth, Tanglung DIY classes, health talks, an autocar show and other activities held during the event.

Each booklet costs RM10 and all funds will be donated to charity.

Visit To Orphanage - Sunbeams and Purelife (20/8/11)

The Leo Club of Sri Kuala Lumpur had organised a visit to Yayasan Sunbeams and Purelife Society on the 2oth of August 2011. The event was attended a few members accompanied by teachers. This event started at 8.30a.m. and ended at 2:00p.m. Our objective was to hand in 2 cheques each RM17500 raised from our annual Leo Club Charity Dinner to both of these orphanages. Yayasan Sunbeams was located at Cheras and Purelife Society at Puchong.

We departed from school and went to Yayasan Sunbeams first. Once there, we were greeted by the owner of the ophanage, Mr.Tan. He gave us a short introduction about the orphanage and showed us around the orphanage which was actually 4 separate buildings linked together. We also saw a painting contributed by Mines drawn on one of the walls. There was also a "penyambut bayi" outside the orphanage. Its purpose is to save the babies that are victims of baby-dumping. We then presented the cheque to Mr.Tan and took a group photo with all the orphans of Yayasan Sunbeams.

We then left Yayasan Sunbeams and headed for Purelife Society in Puchong. Once we got there, we had to wait for about 20 minutes before the event coordinator, Mr. Koh came. He gave us a short introduction about the Purelife Society and showed us around. The Purelife Society was very well equipped with facilitites such as a library and a computer lab. The orphanage also had their own reservoir which collects rainwater to be used for domestic purposes.

Mr. Koh then took us up a hill where a prayer hall was. Behind was a garden where the late Swami Satyananda was buried. Next, we proceeded to the canteen and helped serve food to the orphans. Shortly after, Mother A Mangalam arrived and our president presented the cheque to the Purelife Society. Just before we left, we took a group photo and reached school safely at about 2.00p.m.

Sri KL's Annual Charity Dinner

Every year, our club organises what we call, "Charity Dinner".

What we do is that we hold a huge dinner gala at a specific ballroom and sell our tickets to the students of Sri Kuala Lumpur to raise funds. These funds are donated to various charitable homes chosen by us. It will be held at Empire Hotel, Subang Jaya on the 22nd of April 2011. This year, we've chosen two orphanage homes called YAYASAN SUNBEAMS HOME and PURE LIFE SOCIETY for us to donate to. Our goal this year is to reach at least RM25,000, but of course, the more the better right?

How YOU can help?

Simply donate a little, or donate a lot. It depends on you. Every penny counts! One of these homes need at least RM80,000 EVERY MONTH to nurse the orphans.

So, if you're looking for doing a good deed, please do donate to us and we will compile everyone's money and donate it to them, where they REALLY need it.

Leo Clubs of SMK Subang Utama, SMK La Salle Klang, SMK La Salle PJ, SMK USJ 8, SMK USJ 4, Leo Club of SMK Seafield, SMK Damansara Jaya, SMK Subang Jaya, SM Sri KL, SMK Seksyen 4 Bandar Kinrara, SMK Taman Sea, SMK (P) Assunta & Taylor’s College are organising a joint project which is the 3R Eco-Fashionista Competition & Eco-exhibition

The main objective of this project is to instill 3R awareness that is Reduce Reuse Recycle in the

utmost creative manner that is FASHION! Students are invited to compete in groups of 4pax. Each

team is to appoint a “model” from their team and the “attire” will be designed and made using used

materials such as newspapers and recycled items. The models will be walking around the

shopping mall creating more awareness on the 3R to the public! Thereafter, the models will

perform “cat-walk” on stage.Winners will win prizes and cash of up to RM500.00!

- Leo Club of Sri KL is organizing a calligraphy competition next Thursday (11/2/10) from 8.30am-1.00pm
- Students from other schools will be coming over to participate in this event, therefore we need a 5 Leo members for 'service crew'.

AIESEC Taylor University College would be organizing a blazing red-night-themed charity dinner " THE RED NIGHT" in support of PT Foundation Malaysia.

Amongst the highlight of the events include exciting dance performances, wushu demonstration & local popular band performances to keep you entertained the whole night long. To top it up, a dedicated dance floor would be opened up and the music cranked up for all you to let loose and sashay to the music!

Food wise, it'd be BUFFET style and will be specially catered.

The Faisal Cup volunteer job is cancelled guys :( due to 3 reasons; exams are coming soon, the school can't give us trsp plus the school does not encourage us to help out for whatever reasons.

However those of you who want to go can still buy raffle tickets at RM10 (pretty cheap don't you think?) buyers stand a chance to win laptop, bicycle, microwave oven, electric and electronic goods and many more.

For those who don't know the place, it's at Cochrance Sports Complex, Jalan Cochrane, KL. Anyone can go, it's open to everyone. Please buy as they need to raise funds for covering their costs. The event starts from 7am to 3pm.

Faisal Cup Jobs

Sorry people! I forgot to add the lists of jobs available to volunteers. Well, here they are:

1) Football - Linesman, Referee, Umpire, Score runner, Game coordinator, Recording the scores, runners

2) Netball - referee and score keeper

3) Help to set up the tables and the different counters for the activities on the eve of the event

4) Help to set up the medals and trophies on the table

5) Sale of food and beverages - Helping to sell food such as burgers, nasi lemak, pop -corn, hot dog and meehoon, fruits, tit bits, ice-cream, etc

6) Distributing drinking water to the teams and officials

7) Helping children alighting from the chartered buses to line up in 2 rows and collecting coupons from all those using the buses upon arrival and departure

8) Selling of coupons for food. Collecting and tearing coupons.

9) Assisting game co-ordinator to distribute the game schedule to each team and ensuring everyone keeps to the time

10) Organizing children to participate in the outdoor activities such as telematches, tug of war, dip in the wading pool and other outdoor games

11) Organizing children to paticipate in the indoor activities such as art and craft, face painting, sand art, nail painting and other activities etc including helping children to the toilets

12) Selling souvenirs such as umbrellas

13) Selling raffle tickets

14) Help to distribute name tags to all volunteers upon arrival

La Salle Klang 20th Installation Day.

La Salle Klang had their 20th Installation today.

Leo Lim Yuanting, Leo Sue-Anne Han, and Leo Brenda Ong represented Sri KL Leo Club for the installation that took place in their school.

The installation started around 11am as we were waiting for the VIPs to arrive. They started the installation without Lion Alan as instructed as he will be late.

There were some singing/band, and chinese tradisional yo-yo performance.

After lunch, they had some slide show of what they archieved so far for this fiscal year. The games and performance carried on even though VIPs left after the slide show. Leo Sue-Anne and Leo Brenda represented Sri KL, but we lost. haha. At least we were brave enough.

The installation ended around 1.30 after all the souvenirs were given out by their new President, Leo Kamal. =)

Yes, proof that we were there. lol.

The emcees are the 2 center ones. They're better than our emcees we had for our joint installation. no offence.

Walkhathon by Monash University

The LEO club of Monash University is having a walkhathon to raise funds for adopting trees. The details are as follows:

Theme: Walk for a Greener Tomorrow

Date: 4th October 2009 (Sunday)

Application deadline: 27^th September 2009

Time: 7 am to 12 pm

Venue: Monash University Bandar Sunway

Participation fees is RM 15.

Is open togeneral public within the age limit of 16-50.

Participant will get a t-shirt, goodies bag, certificate of participation and lucky draw.

Please collect your t-shirt in advance on 24th September or 25th September at Monash.

You may collect on that day of the walkathon as well but you are required to wear it for throughout the whole event.

Hey guys! Yeah, as you all know already for those who were present at the meeting today. We discussed about Brotherhood/Sisterhood program.

In this program, each key officer will adopt two BOD members as their brother/sister. This is to ensure any projects organized by BODs will not go out of hand. Key officers shall be acting as the advisors. :)

We have already drawn out the names by lucky pick style. :)

Joint Installation of Board Of Directors of Lions Club of Subang Jaya, Lions Club of PJ Mutiara, Lions Club of Puchong, Lions Club of Sunway, and Lioness Club of Subang Jaya was held on the 11th of July, in Armana Hotel, PJ.

Leo Lim Yuanting and Leo Sue-Anne Han represented Sri KL Leo Club for the event. Oh, lots of Lions like our Leo Roar. =)

This project is carried out to support the ‘Adopt A Child’ program organized by Sin Chew Daily and also to help the poor children in China. Through this project, we raise funds to help them to go to school because every child has the rights to study and not all of them can afford to go to school. Besides that, this project’s objective is also to help the cancer patients. The profit of this project will be equally divided between the ‘Adopt A Child Program’ and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia.
